I recently had a reader ask the following:
My pediatrician told me that vitamins weren’t necessary for my 18 month old, but I could give them to her if I wanted to. Do you have any suggestions or opinions on giving vitamins? How about saving money on them?
Readers, I’m very interested in this, too! I have occasionally seen coupons for the Enfamil vitamins in magazines, but I don’t have other ideas on how to save money on vitamins. What do you do? What brands do you use? Please leave a comment with your thoughts.

My daughter is 21 months, and we've been giving her vitamins for quite a few months now. She isn't the best eater, and is in the 2nd percentile for weight, so we hope that it helps a little.
I use coupon's for vitamins occasionally but I rarely find one's that are overly useful. An off, store, brand is the best way to go, in my opinion. But, watch for the sales on the name brands. At my local Kroger store, this week, they had the Disney vitamin's 50% off so I stocked up on an extra jar.

My son is 2 gets the gummy vitamins from Costco. I break them in half before I give them to him. He likes them a lot.

I use vitamins and omega-3 supplements for my 5 yr old who is autistic and also for my 2 yr old. I find the best way to get the really great brands that have good tasting gummies is to go through Vitacost. Now they don't have coupons but I find their prices to be far less than the drugstores and health food stores.

For those in the NW, Kaiser pharmacies carry generic drugs for half the cost and you don't have to be a member to buy them. They also have baby vitamin drops for a just a few dollars.

The best vitamins to buy are called usana and they are for the whole family and the company actually has a program where you can have your own business and make money. The vitamins are expensive but if you can get people signed up then your check will cover them plus you will get extra money.

I will have to agree with Jackie on this. We also use Usana and even though they are more than I would like to pay they are high quality vitamins.

I've always used either tri-vi-sol or poly-vi-sol for my daughter and I can attest that the best prices are at Costco. Much cheaper than anywhere else I looked. You have to get them from the pharmacy, but don't need an RX. At two, you can move up to the gummy vitamins, I believe, which may be cheaper.
