This post brought to you by Comfort Zone® products. All opinions are 100% mine.
Have you ever met a stressed pet? My cats are generally amicable if they’re left alone. It’s no secret that they’re not nice cats, but my cats are practically the definition of “stressed felines” when people other than my husband myself or our two kids are in our house.
I understand that my cats aren’t comfortable with strangers. I don’t know if they feel territorial, protective, or some other feeling that can make them unfriendly at best. Because of that behavior, I thought I had a pretty good reason to try out Comfort Zone® with Feliway®.
Comfort Zone® with Feliway® products help reduce stress-related behavior in cats by mimicking their natural pheromones that help them feel calm and comfortable in their environment. While we don’t experience severe behavioral issues with our kitties, it’s good to konow that the Comfort Zone® with Feliway® products are known to be 95% effective at reducing scratching and urine marking in cats.
I know that there are lots of people out there who are insensitive to those of us who really, truly love our pets. Many people have suggested that I “get rid” of our cats because they’re not nice. It hurts to be on the receiving end of that sort of comment, but, on the other hand, it makes me all the more protective of Belle and Nova. They’re mine, and I’m the only one who loves them enough to help them, to care for them and to ensure they have a warm home, a full dish of food and water to drink.
To that extent, I love that Comfort Zone® with Feliway® is discreet. It’s a simple diffuser that plugs into a wall outlet and continuously releases an odorless vapor that mimics the soothing feline facial pheromone. It’s supposed to be plugged in where the cat spends most of its time to keep it calm.
I used the Comfort Zone® with Feliway® plug in for a month with my cats. They don’t spend a majority of time in one particular room, so I kept it in our family room, which is near their food dishes and their litter box area.
I have to say, I didn’t notice much of a change in their personality or affection, but it’s also recommended that consumers use the product for a full 90 days before evaluating results. As we’re preparing to have an increase in houseguests through the holiday season, I don’t see any harm in continuing to use it.
If you have pets that have stress-related behavior changes, especially scratching and urine marking, I would definitely give Comfort Zone® with Feliway® products a try. I wish I would have had it for the first few months after we brought our dog home. I think it would have made for a much calmer household!
Comfort Zone® with Feliway® for cats is available in a diffuser or spray for use in home or during travel. You can learn more by visiting their Facebook page.
