You all know that I love big Broadway musicals, right? My heart skipped a beat when I saw that Disney’s 53rd full-length animated movie will be Frozen and it’s going to feature the voice of Idina Menzel!
I’ve been a fan of Idina Menzel for a long, long time. Since playing one of the leads in the original cast of Rent, she’s gone on to do amazing things with her vocal and acting career, including playing a great part as Rachel’s birth mother in Glee (don’t make fun–almost anyone who loves musicals is practically programmed to love Glee, too :))!
It was just announced that Jennifer Lee, who most-recently was a screenwriter for Wreck-It Ralph, just jumped in as director for Frozen. She co-directed Tarzan and also worked on The Little Mermaid and Pocahontas. That, combined with other vocal talents like Kristin Bell, the songwriting talents of Robert Lopez and the overall magic of Disney, has me on the edge of my seat!
I’m so excited to learn more about Frozen, but I know the details are going to trickle in. For now, all I know is that the movie is going to be released on November 27th, 2013, and we can LIKE Frozen on Facebook to stay on top of all the movie news!

I love GLEE, too! I didn’t know “rachel’s mom” had such a history, but she sure can sing! I can’t wait to learn more about this movie.
