Help for Haiti: How Everyone Can Make a Difference

By now, I’m sure you all know that much of Haiti was devastated by a massive earthquake on January 12th. It’s hard enough when a natural disaster occurs in our fair country, but to see an impoverished nation in the middle of such a tragedy is absolutely heartbreaking.

Can you help? I learned yesterday that we can all simply text the word ‘HAITI’ to 90999 to send $10 to the Red Cross for relief efforts. The $10 will be billed to you right on your phone bill. I picked up my phone and sent the text immediately after finding out about this, and the whole process took about 60 seconds from start to finish. Not into texting? Check out a list of validated and reputable organizations that will accept your donation and direct it to relief in Haiti.

Can you give something, anything to the people suffering in Haiti? Even if it doesn’t seem like much, remember that if everyone donates a little, it will add up to a lot!
