If you know me in person, you know that family is everything to me. First and foremost, that means my husband and kids, but it also includes my parents, my grandma, my sister, brother, their spouses, my in-laws and a handful of other family members that I'm close to.
Because family is so important to me, it's hard for me to live 150 miles away from my parents and sister, and about 80 miles away from my husband's parents. My kids love to see all of their grandparents, plus aunts and uncles, and James and I also want to see them at every opportunity! While traveling the distance sometimes doesn't work out when we're trying to coordinate all of our busy schedules, it's nice to know that technology can bridge the miles and allow us to converse as a family.
While I've never personally used a conference call service to get our families together in spirit, I think it would be absolutely essential if one or more of us happened to live overseas. If that were to happen, I'd definitely try out Powwownow, because it's a free service that exists to provide both web and call conferencing!
Have you ever used conference calls to keep in touch with more than one family member at the same time?
