SpaFinder’s Deal Days just started and there are over 100 spas nationwide that are offering various services for $50 or 50% off! With prices so low, you could have the opportunity to try out a new spa service or just take advantage of some pampering that’s usually out of the budget.
I’m lucky enough to live near a participating spa in the Minneapolis, St. Paul area. The New Reflections Salon and Spa in Plymouth, Minnesota graciously offered all four of the Deal Days services to me, and there was no way I was going to refuse! These are their Deal Day offerings:
Elemental Nature Massage $50
Essential Pedicure $50
Elemental Nature Customized Facial $50
Botanical Hair Therapy Treatment with Blowout $50
So this morning I headed over to the spa to be pampered!
The first service I experienced was the Elemental Nature Massage with Jenny. This was 50-minutes of much-needed therapy for me! I have a very bad habit of not assuming ergonomic positions when I’m working on my computer. Since working on this website consumes much of my time, my back and neck tend to suffer as a result. I told the masseuse that she could use a lot of pressure and she did. When I get a massage I want all the knots worked on and I want it to hurt in a good way! The massages I like aren’t exactly relaxing, but they are definitely healing. Jenny responded to my needs and helped relieve the muscle tension and pain I’ve been experiencing.
The next service I received was the Elemental Nature Customized Facial with Jenny. The massage-to-facial transition was so smooth I hardly knew when the facial actually started! Jenny was extremely gentle with my skin and she did a great analysis to determine the treatment I needed. She found that I needed hydration in some areas and some refining done in other areas. The refining treatment was my favorite part of the facial! She applied a mask, then exfoliated the skin with a great rotating tool. It actually felt like a new layer of skin was being revealed! After the exfoliation, Jenny applied a hydrating mask to complete the treatment. After the facial, Jenny reviewed the products she had used (all Aveda) and let me know what she recommended for continuing use. I’ve never had a facial before, and I have to say it was a wonderful, relaxing follow-up to the massage!
After the facial I met with Heather, who was going to do my hair. Heather explained that I would be getting the Botanical Hair Therapy Treatment and Blowout. She explained that the New Reflections Salon & Spa is an Aveda Concept Salon, which means that they exclusively use Aveda products and treatments. She said that she would use Aveda-developed methods to treat and style my hair. Aveda is a Minnesota brand that has a great reputation for natural, high-performing products, so this definitely communicated that New Reflections has high standards! The Botanical Hair Therapy treatment with a Blowout included a scalp, neck and shoulder massage, scalp and hair analysis, shampoo, deep conditioning treatment and a blowdry and style. I explained to the stylist that I have naturally curly hair that I like to straighten, and I really liked to use a lot of products on it. Heather determined that I would need a salon-grade moisturizing treatment, and she even recommended two Aveda conditioners that would work well on my hair. After the amazing massage and moisturizing treatment Heather started styling my in a voluminous blowout. I can straighten my hair fairly well on my own, but I can never give it the body I’m looking for. She showed me how to pre-dry my hair then use a round brush to lift it at the roots and smooth the curls. If I’m allowed, I have to say that my hair looked fantastic after the blowout. In addition, it was almost impossibly soft and manageable for being styled!
Finally, I was treated to an Essential Pedicure with Traci. I’m not a stranger to pedicures, but I also rarely have the treat of experiencing a spa pedicure at a salon. I can honestly say that Traci was the most professional nail technician I’ve ever worked with! From the first greeting to the finishing touches, Traci made sure I was comfortable and happy. This woman thought of everything! When I realized my super-skinny jeans would roll up above my knees but they’d leave me uncomfortable, Tracy suggested I change into a spa robe for the pedicure. She even told me to change back into my jeans before the polish application so I wouldn’t end up waiting for my nails to fully dry before getting dressed. She also adjusted the temperature of the water twice to make sure it was exactly the way I wanted it! Tracy ended the service with an Aveda “Purescription” detailing her recommendation to keep my feet maintained and moisturized throughout the winter.
All in all, I had an absolutely fabulous experience at the New Reflections Salon and Spa in Plymouth, Minnesota! With services like a massage and facial for just $50 each, I highly recommend booking an appointment for SpaFinder’s Deal Days!

How amazing! It looks and sounds like you had an amazing time. I would love to go, but unfortunately there are no spas near me particpating in the deal days. I am so glad that you got pampered and had a day of luxury at the spa though. 🙂
