If you’ve been reading this website for a while, you know that deals occasionally pop up like 5 Packs of Pampers for $28.54 or 7 Packs of Luvs for $30.50 (both still available!), but, honestly, I have rarely been able to find a bargain where I can get name-brand diapers for $.20 or less each by just walking into a store and buying them. Let’s face it: to get the deals, you need to do a little bit of work.
I have to say, the only way I have been able to actually stock up on Pampers and Huggies is by using coupons. By always keeping a stash of diaper coupons clipped and tucked away in my purse, I’m able to jump on a deal at a moment’s notice. Take it from me: between my 7-month old boy and my next little one on the way, I’ve stockpiled over 100 jumbo packages of diapers, and I haven’t paid more than $.10 per diaper ever! As prices rise while packaging continues to shrink, it has become even more important to seize every opportunity that comes up for cheap diapers!
I’m not saying that you need to do exactly as I do. Not everyone has the storage space or the drive to so aggressively accumulate diapers; but I also believe you can do something similar in moderation.
For example, we know that a great Huggies deal is coming up at Walgreens next week. You have the opportunity to print a few coupons in preparation for that sale. If you were able to print two $5 off coupons, you should be able to score three packs of Huggies for $10 after coupons. If you only want a few packages of diapers, this is a wonderful deal, and you’re done. If you need more, ask your friends and family to print coupons and give them to you. You’d be surprised at how many people are willing to help you out–most people can sympathize with you on the cost of diapers!
The important thing to remember is that the Walgreens deal is not a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Deals on diapers do surface fairly often (that’s where paying attention to BabyGoodBuys comes in!), but you need to be prepared with coupons so you can best take advantage of the bargains!
Why am I posting this now? The fabulous Bargain Briana is starting a wonderful series called 15 Days of Couponing to “guide you through the art of couponing”. I truly believe anyone can become a master bargain shopper with just a little bit of help. I have a feeling this series will be worth the small time investment, and your pocketbook will thank you a hundred times over!
