My list of birthday cake ideas for girls inspired me to keep my eyes peeled for equally fabulous boy birthday cakes. Since my son’s birthday is just five days after my daughter’s birthday, I’m pretty excited about the possibilities that come with making two beautiful cakes for my kids!
Here are some inspiring birthday cakes for boys. I know my son would go wild for any of these!
Sailboat Birthday Cake :: This is made from a single cake baked in a standard 9×13 pan!
Lego Building Blocks Birthday Cake :: Bake a cake in a 9×13 pan and follow the directions to make cake “bricks” with marshmallows.
Space Shuttle Birthday Cake :: This is another one that starts with a single cake baked in a standard 9×13 pan. The cake instructions include a pattern to cut out and assemble the space shuttle!
Monkey Birthday Cake :: Bake a 9 inch cake and use a variety of candies and icings to transform it into an adorable monkey!
Stars and Moon Birthday Cake {this Wilton cookie cutter set includes the moon, stars and circle cookie cutters you’ll need for this lovely cake}

Those are some great cakes! I have the hardest time picking cakes for my son – there are so many good ideas out there! This year we went with a Spongebob cake, but I really wanted to do the monkey one LOL

Joanna, I found SO many cute monkey cakes when I was doing this post. I might do a separate post with JUST monkey cakes!

I’m going to have to make a Lego cake for my son. I wish I was talented enough to make a Star Wars Lego cake… I’d be the best thing since sliced bread, in his eyes. 🙂

I think that the LEGO cake would be better if you use cupcakes & shaved them into straight sided cylindars instead of the marshmallows. I guess it would depend on the type of cake. Maybe if you used a chocolate cake it would work, then it might be somewhat of a rocky road cake.
