Frugal Baby: Make Your Own, DIY BabyLegs Leg Warmers

Who doesn’t love BabyLegs? Those adorable little leg warmers just couldn’t be any cuter, and they’re functional, too! They’re so great for keeping baby toasty warm on days around the house, and they also make wearing cute onesies possible in the cold winter months! The price of BabyLegs, however, is rediculous. Come on, $12 for glorified socks?

That’s why I was so excited to find this incredibly simple tutorial for making my own BabyLegs out of standard, women’s size decorated knee socks! It does require a pair of scissors and sewing machine, but it’s so easy, anyone could do it. I picked up 3 pairs of fruit-themed knee socks on clearance at Target for just $1.74, so I’ll have three precious pairs of baby leg warmers for less than $.75 each!

Sewing is a great way to save money not just on baby clothes, but on items for the entire family. My next big goal is learning how to mend and sew my own items, and I know exactly how I’m going to start!

I’m going to learn how to make a skirt with this midi skirt sewing pattern, and I’m super excited to get started!

I was looking for a diaper caddy, but didn't want to spend the $20-30.

I found a very pretty photo box in Hobby Lobby that works PERFECTLY (and matches my daughter's room!). It fits two rows of diapers, a bottle of lotion, and a tube of diaper creme.

It was 50% off – I think it was about $3.

Ah, there it is! I saw that tutorial quite a while ago but when I went to link to it on my baby leg warmer post, it was gone, so I cobbled one together. I'll have to go edit! I found that I preferred to hand stitch mine anyway – that way I had more control, and it really doesn't take long. I saw a tutorial the other day on making baby legs from a dollar store scarf and about died of cuteness – that one might be next. :>) Thanks for posting!

I absolutely have fallen in love with those legwarmers. After I finish all my other DIY projects, I'm definitely taking this one on!
