Best Moments of the Star Wars Press Junket
The Star Wars: The Last Jedi press junket was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life.
Note: I have a special post planned for the most amazing part of the day: A press conference with all the talent from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. That’s coming next week.
You’d think being in the same room with Mark Hamil, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Issac, John Boyega and so many others would be enough. But Disney doesn’t do anything in small doses. We were there for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and we got an overload of Star Wars everything after the press conference was done!
I have a photo tour of the highlights of my Star Wars: Global Press Day experience. There was so much to see and do, I’m still a bit overwhelmed by all of it!
An entire floor of the hotel where the press day was held was dedicated to the Star Wars experience. It had the feel of an expo hall or convention center, but with way less people. It felt like such a privilege to be there for the experience with the handful of others who were there!
Star Wars: The Last Jedi posters led the way into the exposition, and authentic costumes from past Star Wars films were displayed along the corridors.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi Characters
The most fun part of the experience was definitely getting to see BB-8 and The Last Jedi‘s newest droid, BB-9E. I got to have a little conversation with each of them.
I can definitely say that BB-8 is even cuter in person than he is in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I’m hoping BB-9E in Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the same!
Then I had a quick and fun run-in with the Praetorian Guard. They were not as friendly as BB-8 and BB-9E!
Star Wars: The Last Jedi Shirts
We also got to go into a special room and have a Star Wars shirt custom screen printed.
I chose a Millennium Falcon design for a shirt for my husband, then watched while it was screen printed right in front of me.
Disney Parks: Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge News
Expansive pieces of real estate are being dedicated to Star Wars at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is slated to open in 2019, and we got a fun view of the designs and renderings of the future attractions!
You all know I think Disney does everything right, and I’m so excited to see how amazing Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be.
On Set Photography from Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Rian Johnson, the director of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, had an exhibit of photos taken on the set of the movie:
Star Wars: The Last Jedi Ice Cream
Who knew there was Star Wars ice cream? Ample Hills Creamery has created three limited-edition flavors of ice cream to represent the themes of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
I had samples and I have to say, this ice cream is phenomenal. I hope I’ll be able to find it in Minnesota!
LittleBits Droid Inventor Kit:
Love LittleBits? Love Star Wars? You’re going to love the R2-D2 Droid Inventor Kit, which comes with everything you need to create your very own droid!
Star Wars: The Last Jedi Products and Merchandise
Disney Consumer Products had a sizable display of the hottest Star Wars: The Last Jedi merchandise. These are some of my favorites:
Star Wars has always had a futuristic feel, so it’s no surprise that there’s some hot tech toys and experiences to go with Star Wars: The Last Jedi!
The XLab Virtual Reality Demo was there to try out being a Jedi in a VR setting, and we learned all about Movies Anywhere, where you can house your digital copies of movies from most major studios. It’s the answer to digital films that we’ve all been waiting for!
I honestly can’t wait to share even more about the Star Wars press junket with all of you. Next week and the following week are going to be filled with details and experiences. Stay tuned!
