Where to Find Free Samples

Get amazing freebies when you use this list of the best places to find free samples!

A brown paper envelope contains two beige cosmetic bottles and two colorful sachets—perfect free samples for beauty lovers—one with red and pink stripes and one blue with a pebble pattern, set against a light background.

When I was younger, I thought I might outgrow my love of freebies. I used to jump at the chance to get a little bottle of perfume, a trial size tube of new shampoo, a sample of that new face cream I’ve been hearing about.

Well, the years have passed and I still get a little thrill when I snag a sample of a fun product. I guess it’s not a feeling that’s ever going to go away for me!

While I love getting those trial-size items in stores, it’s super easy to find them online and have them delivered right to your door.

I’m a discerning sample-hunter, so almost all of my freebie sources are 100% free, shipping included. But there are a few that are worth paying a few dollars to ship. Sometimes high-quality products or a variety of products offered is enough to make me spend a bit on shipping. It’s always been worth it for me.

Best places to get free samples

MySavings

The free samples page on MySavings.com is a great place to find currently available freebies. It’s super easy to see the brands and products you can request, and it seems that every offer is vetted before they share it.

A free sample from MySavings is how I first tried Toleraine double repair face moisturizer, and I’ve been in love with it ever since I received my first little free tube in the mail a few years ago.

It’s been the absolute best product for repairing my skin barrier, and I’ve been buying it ever since.

Walmart Baby Box

If you’re pregnant, you need to get in on the free Walmart baby registry gift box. Just create your baby registry, add at least 20 unique items and wait for $25 in products to be purchased. When that’s done, you’ll be able to order a box of complimentary goodies curated for new babies and new moms.

Walmart Beauty Box

The Walmart Beauty Box is a seasonal box containing both deluxe samples and even full-size products! The items are always from trusted brands, and the contents of the box are always a fun surprise! Past samples included in these boxes include brands like Sun Bum, Cerave, ELF, Batiste and Aveeno!

Shipping for this one is usually $5.98, but the quality of the products from brands you know makes it worth it.

Target Circle

Did you know that you get monthly freebies, gifts and exclusive discounts when you join Target Circle 360? And these freebies are good. Free full-size laundry detergent. $5 in free food. Free charging cables.

This is a paid annual membership, but you don’t have to pay full price for it!

I’m always seeing offers in my Target account to save 50% off a Target Circle 360 membership. College students and recipients of government assistance can both save 50% on membership.

Sam’s Club

Sam’s Club is one of the best places for free samples because there are often snacks to try out in the grocery area. There’s also an electronic kiosk in stores where you can scan your membership card and get a free sample. You can get 50% off your Sam’s Club membership when you click through this link.

Sephora

There are a few different ways to snag free items from Sephora. The most popular way is to sign up for the free Sephora Beauty Insider program. With it, you’ll get birthday freebies, samples with purchases, and occasional extra gifts, just for fun.

Another, lesser-known way to get Sephora freebies is to ask for them in store. That’s right, all you have to do is speak up!

This works best for foundations, concealers, lotions and cleansers.

Start with finding the product you’d like to try at home. Ask an associate in the area if there are any samples of the brand, particularly the one you’re interested in. The salesperson will give you the samples if they’re available. If they’re not, don’t give up! Ask for a little take-home sample and they’ll put some in a container for you to keep trying.

Facebook

This one’s last because it’s a little ambiguous. The thing is, if you want samples, you have to let Facebook know you’re interested in samples.

Beauty brands like ELF, NYX, Olay, Cereve and others are all known to target interested potential customers by offering free samples. So turn off your ad-blocker, get on Facebook and like all the brands you’re truly interested in. Be patient and the offers will probably start showing up.
