A Few Tips
Uppercase M has four parts. Left line down, diagonal up to the top middle, diagonal back down, then right line up and back down. Encourage kids to go slow so they keep the peaks as even as they can. Following the dashed outline carefully keeps it consistent.
Try a chubby crayon before a pencil. Thicker writing tools are easier to control for kids still developing their grip. A triangular crayon in particular encourages the correct three-finger hold.
Compare M and N side by side. Once your child knows both, show them together. M has two peaks, N has one diagonal. That comparison helps learning both letters stick and reduces mix-ups between them.
