Free Letter T Tracing Worksheet

T is simple, high-frequency letter, and it’s one of the first letters kids recognize in print. It’s always so fun to see a child start identifying letters for the first time, and T is a great place to start!

This free printable letter T tracing worksheet covers uppercase T and lowercase t with dashed letter outlines that show proper crossbar placement for both.

What’s on This Worksheet

  • Rows of dashed uppercase T outlines to trace
  • Rows of dashed lowercase t outlines to trace
  • Combined uppercase and lowercase rows to trace together
  • A tree picture to color

This worksheet prints on a standard sheet of printer paper (8.5″ x 11″).

A Few Tips

Uppercase T has a crossbar centered at the very top. Kids often draw it lopsided or place it too far down the line. Following the dashed outline carefully on the first few rows builds the right habit before writing independently.

Lowercase t crosses lower than uppercase T. The crossbar sits about two-thirds of the way up, not at the top. This difference trips kids up when they switch between upper and lowercase. Pointing it out directly prevents the confusion.

T appears in so many words, especially sight words. The, to, it, at, that – once your child can write a confident T, they can start forming words they already know how to read. Helping a budding reader and writer make that connection is a great motivator.
