Number two tracing practice
The number 2 is one of the first numbers kids learn to write. It’s also one of the first they get wrong. But we can change that!

A few tips
Number 2 has two strokes. The guide shows the curve starting at the top, sweeping down and to the right, then a straight line across the bottom from left to right. Kids often try to do it in one looping motion and end up with a backwards or misshapen 2. Breaking it into two deliberate strokes helps.
Count the crocodiles first. Point to each one, count aloud together, then show how the numeral 2 represents that group. Kids who understand what a number means retain its form much better than those who just copy shapes.
Watch for reversal. A backwards 2 is common at this age and not a concern on its own. Consistent use of the stroke guide, especially starting at the correct point each time, is the best long-term fix.
