Free Letter H Tracing Worksheet
Letter H is made entirely of straight lines, which makes it one of the more approachable letters for kids still building fine motor control. This free printable letter H tracing worksheet covers both uppercase H and lowercase h with dashed letter outlines.
What’s on This Worksheet
- Rows of dashed uppercase H outlines to trace
- Rows of dashed lowercase h outlines to trace
- Combined uppercase and lowercase rows to trace together
- A house picture to color
This worksheet prints on a standard sheet of printer paper (8.5″ x 11″).
A Few Tips
Uppercase H has a crossbar that should land exactly halfway up. Kids who rush often put it too high or too low. Encourage them to look at the dashed outline carefully before starting each letter.
Lowercase h starts with a tall line. The second part starts partway down that same line, humps over, and comes back down. Kids sometimes start the hump in the wrong place — remind them the hump starts in the middle of the tall line, not at the top or bottom.
Start with play dough. Rolling a snake of play-doh into the shape of the letter might be less frustrating for kids who are not ready for a pencil yet.
