Free number seven tracing worksheet
Number 7 looks simple, but kids who are learning to write are still building fine motor skills. That diagonal stroke can give them some trouble.
This free printable worksheet gives preschool and kindergarten kids who are learning their numbers an easy way to start writing. It has a stroke-order guide to follow, plus seven lizards to count and color before the tracing begins.

A few tips
“To the right then down the slide. That makes a seven every time!” Say the rhyme while you’re demonstrating the correct way to follow the strokes and write the number 7. Then repeat it slowly while your child does the tracing. Emphasize slide to encourage a confident, straight diagonal on the second stroke. Slowing down too much can produces a wobbly line.
The top line comes first. Kids who start with the diagonal and add the top line after usually produce an off-balance 7 that is hard to read. The stroke guide makes the correct order clear: across the top first, diagonal second.
Count all seven lizards. Seven is solidly in the range where counting by sight is hard; counting one by one is expected and appropriate. Make it interactive: point to each lizard together and count out loud before moving to the worksheet.
