Just last week I participated in an exciting press junket for Disney’s Tomorrowland, the upcoming summer blockbuster opening in theaters on May 22nd!
Interviewing George Clooney was a gigantic highlight of the trip, but it wasn’t enough to keep 25 bloggers busy for a few days 🙂
Thankfully, we were able to fit in a visit to The Happiest Place on Earth to help get the full Tomorrowland experience!
My visit to the Disneyland happened the day after I had screened Tomorrowland for the first time.
My full review of the film is coming next week, but I have to say that I was absolutely delighted to see bits and pieces and ideas from the real Tomorrowland park throughout the movie.
Take a look at this trailer and see if you can pick anything out that reminds you of the park at Disneyland or Disney World:
I have to say, this visit to Disneyland felt extra-special with all the movie details fresh in my mind!
If you’re visiting Disneyland or Walt Disney World anytime soon, you can have the same experience I did at the exclusive Sneak Peek of Disney’s Tomorrowland Movie with a special Tomorrowland exhibit!
Disney’s Tomorrowland exhibit features props from the movie, concept artwork, photos from filming and images from the Disney Archives.
Commenting on this exclusive Tomorrowland sneak peek event, Brad Bird, the film’s two-time Oscar® winning director, said:
We are excited that park guests will be the first to get an extended look at ‘Tomorrowland’ in the part of Disneyland that inspired the film.
Tomorrowland is the one section of the park that Walt Disney himself designed to be tied inexorably to constant change.
After all, the future is always in motion, continually shifting as humankind’s choices of the present remake the world ahead of us. ‘Tomorrowland’ is a state of mind.
My hope is that the exhibit will convey some of the magic that went into bringing this land… and this movie, to life.”
I love that the director of the movie has this much sentiment over this exhibit. It really makes it clear that Brad Bird holds Tomorrowland close to his heart, which makes the film and the exhibit even more special!
Like everything else at Disneyland, the Tomorrowland showcase truly is an experience.
It starts with a 12-minute movie sneak peek that will definitely leave the viewer wanting to see the entire film NOW! After the preview, we went to the exhibit to view props and memorabilia from the movie:
This is Young Frank Walker’s jetpack.
I absolutely loved this gorgeous concept art paired with a still from the film.
This is the Tomorrowland Monitor Console, which is a device that takes center stage in a pivotal moment in the movie.
The Tomorrowland movie sneak peek and special exhibit is only going to be in each park for a limited time. If you’re planning a visit to Walt Disney World or Disneyland in the near future, this is definitely something you need to see!
