A few tips for learning to write the letter E
Uppercase E is One tall line and 3 shelves. As you demonstrate writing the capital E, explain it as one tall line down, then three horizontal shelves at the top, middle, and bottom. Kids who learn it as “one tall line and three shelves” tend to get the spacing more consistent than those who just copy the shape visually.
Lowercase e is challenging for kids who are learning how to write. It starts with a horizontal stroke across the middle, then curves up and around counterclockwise. It’s one of the trickier lowercase letters because the starting point is not obvious.
Mark start and end points with green and red. Use a marker on the lowercase letters. Put a green dot at the start of the horizontal line on the tracing sheet and a red dot where the letter ends.
Laminate it. E appears constantly in written English. A page protector and dry-erase marker means unlimited practice on a letter your child will write every day.
