A Few Tips
V is two diagonals meeting at a point. Left diagonal down to the center, then right diagonal up from the same point. Kids who do it in one continuous stroke sometimes end up with a rounded bottom — two deliberate strokes helps keep the point sharp.
Use a highlighter first. Trace over the dashed outlines with a yellow highlighter, then have your child trace over your highlighting with a pencil. The color gives them an extra guide before they work independently.
Uppercase and lowercase V are the same shape, different sizes. Like the letters O and S, your child is learning one shape in two sizes. It’s a quick win they can feel good about.
