I’ll be the first to admit that the Baby Bjorn toilet trainer was an excellent buy for our family. It’s been hanging on one of those great Command hooks in our bathroom for nearly 3 years and I’m in no hurry to put it away!

Why do I like it so much? It fits snugly on our full-size toilet. Combined with a little stool, it also makes it easy and comfortable for little ones to independently go to the bathroom. There’s no cushion to tear or clean, and the entire thing rinses off in seconds under the bathtub faucet.

As great as it is, the BabyBjorn toilet trainer has a list price of $33. I “bought” ours with a gift certificate to Diapers.com, so I didn’t pay out of pocket for it. I have to say, if the Arm & Hammer Secure Comfort Potty Seat had been available at the same time there’s no question that I would have saved $20 for an excellent alternative!

The Arm & Hammer Secure Comfort Potty Seat has a non-skid edge, it’s contoured and an extended splash guard to keep the rest of the bathroom clean.

As far as I can tell, the only feature the Arm & Hammer Secure Comfort set doesn’t have that the Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainer does have is the adjusting dial that ensures it fits all toilets. My little ones have always liked to spin the dial, but I don’t know if I’ve ever used it to fit the set onto our toilet. The rubberized edge (which looks about the same as the Arm & Hammer seat) does its job and keeps the seat in place.

There’s no question that the BABYBJORN Toilet Trainer has excellent reviews (over 500 averaging 4.5 stars!). The price, however, is $33.

If you’re not sure you want to spend that much on a potty seat, consider the Arm & Hammer Secure Comfort Potty Seat. It hasn’t been around for that long, and reviews for it are excellent! At a list price of just $13, it’s a $20 savings over the Baby Bjorn seat!

The Arm & Hammer potty seat is frequently discounted on Amazon. It’s currently $11 and ships free with Amazon Prime. If you don’t have Prime you’ll still get free shipping if your order totals $25 or more.
